Long time, no read...
So what exactly have I been doing? Obviously not updating, that's for sure...
Curiosity is now a solo act. I'm not planning on recruiting any new bandmembers, and because of certain individuals (you know who you are), I'm going to be extremely wary of the promises made to me by certain people who want to "help" me with my career.
Right now I'm writing new songs and working on music and graphics, as usual! (And if you didn't know already, the Korg DS-10 for the Nintendo DS is a nifty little cartridge. Granted I can obtain more powerful stuff, but it's freaky to be able to write a synth line whilst I'm waiting for the bus.)
In other news, my vampire obsession is at full force because I'm going to Romania this summer! To see Dracula's Castle!!! Well, technically there are three to choose from - Poenari Fortress, which was Vlad III's actual abode, now in ruins, Castle Bran, which was owned by Vlad's grandfather even though he never actually lived there, and Castle Dracula, which is a touristy hotel built on the Borgo Pass (which is where Bram Stoker said the castle was, although there was never really a castle there). We're gonna see all three of them! Ever since I started planning the trip I've had O-Zone's "Dragostea din Tei" in my head, for obvious reasons...
Please check out my MySpace and Twitter, which will be updated daily with a Victorian Horoscope (penned by yours truly).

No More Noël
Noël wrote me this. I'm posting it because I believe that I deserved at least a damn phone call, which she didn't provide.
My MySpace is gone, I don't know if she has anything to do with that or not.
And someone tried to change my LiveJournal password recently, someone who wasn't me.
She deleted the Japan tour blog, and set her personal MySpace profile to private (on top of de-friending me on every internet site possible).
"Curi,
I'm quitting your band. I have reasons, and I'm not going to let you off the hook like so many people in the past have. The way you treated me in Japan actually made the trip not worth it. I wish I hadn't have gone. Seriously, I have to see a psychiatrist for the hell you put me through.
I had to keep quiet for a whole month while you talked constantly, gave me advice that I never asked for, arrogantly boasted about your Japanese, expected me to wait on you hand and foot, alienated yourself from my friends, and told me things about yourself that I never asked to hear. Have you ever heard of keeping your mouth shut?
The first time it actually occurred to me that I was in Japan was the one time you feel asleep in the car. I actually had a moment to think. I was appalled at your lack of responsibility. I had no idea. You didn't tell your credit card company that you were going out of the country and then were surprised that they cancelled your card! You then didn't take care of the housing expenses on time. You're lucky they didn't kick us out. I should have never trusted you with these things. Also, how could you possibly sit during the show after Keisuke told you it was rude? You told Matt and I over and over how rude it was to do certain things in Japan, making us extremely uncomfortable. I don't know what it is; do you think you walk on water?
For the past month, my mind has had to put up with this constant yammering... well, it made me crazy. You didn't even go with Captain to take me to the train station when I left! What kind of friend is that?! I told you I understood, but I really don't. Do you think you can get away with shit like that? And, I haven't gotten a fucking email from you saying something like, "Are you okay? How was your flight?" You didn't respond to my fucking facebook message, either. You keep sending me stuff on facebook, so why can't you respond to something a little more important? I have my doubts that you ever sent my shit out, even after I gave you 10000 yen for it... What happened with Closet Child? A real friend would have kept me updated and taken care of it. So now I have no idea what is going on and realize that I really should have taken care of it myself. I just thought that I would give you the benefit of the doubt like I have so many times. How hard was it to do these things for me? I asked for so little. So, I need my stuff and the money either left over from shipping or all of it, and also the money for the stuff I sold at Closet Child. You need to ship this stuff to me, or I will fucking take it by force. Don't underestimate me again, I swear to Christ.
Either 10000yen or the change from shipping
The money from Closet Child should be 12000yen
Flat tea party shoes
Cherry print Meta dress
14 manga (Medical Dragon and X)
My Gentlemen's Alliance series that you borrowed
Some headdresses
I was so tolerant, I amaze myself. Give me a list of the things you need from me and I'll ship them. I don't want to see you and don't try calling.
Kendra
P.S. Obviously, I am not playing the Voltaire show. You can do it yourself. Guess you shouldn't have been so mean, huh?"

Figment Industry Heavyweight!!!
If you're unfamiliar with Figment, it's a website where you create a fake band. What this means is, you have member bios, you make tracklistings and cover art for your "albums," and write blog entries and do all that stuff, but you don't actually produce any music. Their motto: "All Bands, No Music." It's a very cool concept because you cannot use music, only words and art to define yourself and your band. So your band has to be 100% PERSONALITY, which most performers are utterly lacking these days.
I've become an Industry Heavyweight...meaning I have been selected as an actual musician who will review fake bands! How Curiosity is that?! (Answer - very Curiosity).
Here's the writeup, it's also on the front of their News site.
"Figment is pleased to announce that Curiosity, the leader of the Gothic Lolita Industrial band of the same name, has agreed to become the latest Figment Industry Heavyweight. An independent artist who writes, sings, performs and produces all of her own material, Curiosity creates her own style of moody, hard-hitting piano-centered digital synth music layered with heavy guitars.
Although based in Chicago, Curiosity dresses in the puffy, lace-covered Japanese Gothic Lolita style of Harajuku street fashion. She speaks fluent Japanese, with some of her songs containing Japanese lyrics intertwined with English. The band's current lineup consists of Curiosity on vocals, keyboards and guitars, supported by the charming angel fairy guitarist Noël Heresy. The two will be touring Japan in January of 2009 in support of Curiosity's upcoming Liquorice EP release.
Curiosity will be reviewing Figment releases and buying/listening to those releases she feels warrant it. We'll also be announcing a contest soon to win a copy of Curiosity's newest EP as well as some other band swag, so be on the lookout!!! In the meantime, check out her MySpace page where you can hear some of her music, check out her videos, read her blog, keep up with tour dates and maybe even become her friend!"
This is the link to my Figment profile, which will soon be loaded with "albums" I have reviewed, "bought" (they are all free) and fictional bands of which I have become a fan. Check it totally out!!!

TWITTER! FOLLOW ME!!!
I NEED TWITTER FOLLOWERS. I need them like I would need crack rock, if I were addicted to crack rock.

My brain is like a goddamn beehive that is going to explode. You need to be bombarded by my constant, harrowing messages of random notions and non sequiturs. I don't know why you need this, YOU JUST DO.
